A Prayer for the World During Covid-19
I don’t even know where to begin.
It’s been months since the world turned upside down. The pandemic has taken so much... lives, jobs, connection, routine. And even now, everything feels so uncertain. So fragile.
I’ve spent most of these months feeling helpless. Watching the news, praying for safety, wondering when things will ever feel normal again. I think about my grandchildren, how they’ve had to adjust to a world where hugs feel dangerous and playdates are held over screens.
I miss them. I miss church. I miss sitting down with friends without a knot of worry tightening in my chest.
But more than anything, I feel the weight of everyone’s pain. The grief that stretches across countries, the fear that sits heavy in every conversation. It’s overwhelming.
And so, I write. Not because I have answers, but because I need to let the ache out somehow.
A prayer feels right tonight... not because it will fix everything, but because it’s all I have left to offer.
Lord, the world feels broken. We are lost and afraid, trying to find our way through the darkness. Be near to those who are hurting, to those who are grieving, to those who feel alone. Give strength to the weary, comfort to the fearful, and peace to the restless.
Help us to find light even when everything feels dim. And when we can’t see the way forward, help us to trust that You are still here.
Amen.
